Here I am...in England and I can still hardly believe it! So far I love it! I love ...
1. Bangers and Mash
2. The cool weather and rain
3. Village markets
4. Fresh from the farm produce
5. Fresh flowers that are cheap!
6. My new house that I will move into next weekend.
7. The people! So friendly!
8. Cadbury chocolate
9. Loads of antiques!
Very few things I don't like but here is my small list of dislikes.
1. The small bumpy roads makes me car sick
LOL yeah that's all for my dislike list and I imagine in time I will get used to the roads. Today I go to my first "car boot" sale which from what I can tell is like a flea market! I can't wait! I'm going with my new friend I met thru FB! Will write more soon!

I'm so glad you're settling in OK Robin! It seems as though you've done quite a bit since you've been here but I guess you're still in 'holiday mode'! That's what I felt like when I moved to this house/area after living in my previous are fo 30 years!
May you have many happy hours in England and never be disappointed with it!!
Welcome to England Robin ,I hope you are all very happy here ,you will love the car boot sale ,though there is alot of rubbish ,it is possible to find a real bargain ,our roads are taking a hammering ,due to the extreme weather changes ,the ground is drying out ,and then it shrinks/breaks up and gets 'bumpy' ...love Jan xx
So glad to see your post today. I've been wondering how the move was going. Enjoy your day and let us know how it was. With all the wonderful bloggers I've met there in England I think you'll have a lot of new friends.
those roads sound like NY roads...just for the raeason Jan said. weather changes,,,,
I am soo jealous! when I was in the Navy, England and Europe were my first choices of place to be stationed...I got the Philippines!
so thrilled that you are liking England - enjoy every second - and keep taking tons of pics - can't wait to see you in your home!!!

Glad the move is smooth and you like it over the pond.
I would give my right arm to go to a yard sale/flea market over there. I bet you'll be out most weekends when the weather allows. Keep on posting.
glad you enjoy it
Hi Robin, welcome to the UK from a fellow incomer. Hope it all works out well in the end - and that you get to see a bit of summer. None to be found up north lol
Soooo glad you're enjoying it there, Robin....I KNEW you would!! And it's so fun to live vicariously through you. :)
Hey, was that photo of your parents freezing taken at the Pier down in St. Petersburg? City Council just voted YESTERDAY to tear down the old Pier building and rebuild something new....still out in the water, but not as far (the pilings and bridge on the way out to the Pier are so rotten, they have to do something before it becomes unsafe - they've decided it would be too expensive to rebuild the whole road in). Anyway, I thought that tidbit might interest you.
Now on to today's adventure! LOL
hugs,
:) Carol
I am so glad you are happy in your new home.I know you're going to collect many happy memories.I can even hear you picking up a bit o'British accent. ;) Like I said before & I know it's silly I miss you. Today I was watching the trave channel. When our first born was little we had the chance to move to Australia-they needed Locomotive Engineer immediately. We talked about it but I was a big baby & "didn't want to be so far away from Mommy & Daddy." I was, oh 19 or 20.What a bonehead mistake. Richard would have made a lot more money & we would have been able to come home & they certainly would have come to visit. There was nothing holding us here. Oh to have been there for as long as we wanted. It is something we will always regret. It was the only real opportunity we had as husband & wife to pack up & move. I know it would have been hard on my folks. Only having my bro & I & Chad was threir first grand. But we would have all survived. So I'm living vicarioiusly through you. LOL Love the house pics. Keep em coming. Love ya kiddo, Barb
Sounds wonderful!! So glad things are going well for you!
Good for you, kid. I'm sure you'll be fine there. Have fun and if you get time, hop on your speedboat and come on down to Miami.
